I, Anne-Marie , founder of FLEMENGO, have always dreamed of building my "own thing". And now I just do it!! I still can't quite believe it myself.

What actually stood in my way for years was myself and my eating disorder. Admittedly, I didn't always know that I wanted to found a jewelery label, but this dream of finally making something of my own, in which I can fully immerse myself and in which I can put all my heart and soul, has been slumbering in me for a long time. And now I just do that. Because I love jewelry!!
About six years ago I thought that I would probably never be able to do a "normal" 40-hour job... I was just so weak and unstable... and then I somehow fought my way out of it after more than ten years Graduated from college, worked full time in agencies for 3 years and am now a founder. And I'm admittedly so proud of it!
Sure, I don't know if this will go well, but it's my dream and I think it's worth a try.
It really started with my jewelry love when I had my first hospital stay in 2015. In the evenings there were a few times a week, so to speak, practical lessons. However, everyone could do what they wanted. I painted a lot and above all made and knotted a lot of bracelets.

And then there happened to be this one store in this tiny town. Or it was more of a small hippie kiosk, but I loved it there! And there was such a small corner with super fancy beads.
Ever since then, I've always been on the lookout for beautiful beads or pendants.
At some point I knew that if I started my own business, it had to have something to do with jewellery. And so I got the idea of founding a jewelry label in my head.
However, I thought to myself that I didn't want to only offer homemade bracelets. I wanted a bigger selection! Because I mean who doesn't love to browse jewelry?!
So I started making rings myself and ordered necklaces and looked again specifically for unusual beads and pendants. My jewelry workshop in the dining room then looked like this:

That's how I designed most of the jewelry in the Classy and Boho Festival collections . I then sent the "prototypes" to my jewelry manufacturer in Asia, which I had previously decided on. There were a few adjustments here and there, but that's how all the gems that can be bought here came about.
It all sounds so easy, doesn't it?! But I have to say that it's not that easy, because when you start an online shop you really have to think about a lot of things and I just want to give you a very rough list of what it means to set up a shop:
  • Write a business plan
  • Establish a limited liability company (drawing up articles of association, tax registration, etc.)
  • choose brand names
  • Secure trademark rights
  • Secure domain(s).
  • Create logo
  • Find trustworthy and reliable suppliers
  • jewelry design
  • packaging design
  • Website creation and design
  • accounting
  • storage and shipping
  • Instagram, TikTok & Co.
  • blog
  • Photo shooting
  • Create marketing concept
  • and much more

So that's definitely a lot! And I have to say I love it!!! Sure, it's all a lot of work. So really a lot. I would say that I work an average of 70 to 80 hours a week, BUT it's just my passion, a little bit my hobby. Because yes, of course I also include the working time in which I make rings and bracelets myself. It's also part of my business 🤣👌

I'm so damn excited to see how this all develops!

Definitely remember: If you want, you can do anything 🤍
